Who to see at Bluesfest in week one?

Not sure who to pick? Not sure there is anyone worth seeing? Today we try to help you out with a few best bets for week one.

Wednesday July 6:

6pm Hardrock Stage - New Country Rehab - amazing country band from Toronto featuring the uber talented John Showman.

9:30pm - National Bank Stage - Jose Conde - maybe a little too slick but with enough latin energy and vibe to be well worth seeing

Thursday July 7:

9:15pm National Bank Stage - Sierra Maestra - Cuban son at its finest. Like the Buena Vista Social Club? then you will enjoy this show

Friday July 8:

9pm - Barney Danson Theatre - Sherman Robertson (he also plays Saturday and Sunday). Who knew there was blues at the Blues festival? And he presents a good show

9pm - Subway Stage - Wanda Jackson - Still rockin' with a career that has lasted for five decades. If you were not able to get in to her show at the Elmdale Tavern here is your chance.

9:30pm - MBNA Main Stage - The Black Keys - did you see them playing the CKCU 30th Anniversary Party in 2005 at Barrymore's. That was fun eh, see them again

Saturday July 9:

6:30pm - National Bank Stage - Larry McRay - what is happening? two solid blues acts at the Blues festival? What is the world coming to?

7:00pm - MBNA Stage - Dennis Coffey - one of the funkier 70+ people still touring. If he only plays "Scorpio" would you be disappointed?

Sunday July 10:

7:15pm - Hard Rock Cafe Stage - The Funky Meters - Are you kidding me? The Meters? Ivan Neville is here with two bands. They are must see shows

7:30pm - Subway Stage - Hypnotic Brass Ensemble - How is this band allowed to play the "city that fun forgot". People might just get out of their lawn chairs and dance. Oh the horror.

9:30pm - Subway Stage - Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk - An entire evening with Ivan. Who says there is nothing to see at the festival this year?
