Here is another disc that is FUN and if you only know the group from their 80's hits you would never think this is the same band. Well before MTV and before they played cheesy synths, the J Geils Band, tore the roof off one bar after another and in their day were a must see show. Recorded in 1972 at Detroit's Cinderella Ballroom they feature songs off their first 2 LP's. Everything is played at a furious pace. They are no masters of the blues to find the best version of these Otis Rush or John Lee Hooker tunes you should go to the legends themselves. But to just have a rip roaring good time, this is a fabulous slab of vinyl.
