On Monday Nov 28th Dave Sarazin and I will be hosting a cover show from 11am-12:30pm. We plan to take as many requests as possible and just may do a part 2 if we get enough or who knows, even a part 3.
We will talk about why a cover song matters and what it says about the song and the artist who covers it.
Does a song need to be defined by time and place? Can a song be done in a different style and still work? Can an artist take something and make it their own?
Hendrix ripping into All Along the Watchtower, changed the way Dylan himself performed the song ever since. Many others are just footnotes. What are the great covers? What makes them great?
